Can Camstudio also record the input and output without recording the screen at the same time?
If not can anyone what are the other programs that can do this?

I think HyperCam will, if you disable the screen capturing in the Options.

How do you disable it? I have it open but I don't see any disable button?

You were able in the early version for definite, because I used to do make YouTube videos with HyperCam in like 2006.

A better program for recording sound is - Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder

How do you do the same with Audacity? I couldn't find the answer to it except a forum thread saying someone successfully did it.

It just records sound that's it. I've only ever used the program once, so you'll have to view some video tutorials on how to use all the features.

Can anybody else recommend a good way to record both the internal sound of the PC and external sound? For example if you are listening to a song with your headset and singing along, and would like to record both the song you are listening to as well as your cover for it at the same time?

Yes, I believe Audacity can do that. Have you tried learning how to use it?
