Integrating UPDATES through ISO-Sneaky bloatware.

Hey guys!

I recently seen the thread under "How to Clean Reinstall a Factory OEM Windows 7" and I actually tried the Slipstream. Okay, now, after successfully creating a slipstream, I noticed that when booting into the operating system, IE was hijacked (I forget the name of the website). I am thinking that the highjack was installed by either Windows Update Installer or the program used to actually slipstream the updates. I performed the steps using the following link:

TEST -Update 7 installation media

Then, on the same thread, some person recommended portable update, which I attempted on a previous install of windows, and it actually highjacked my browser to report to some lady patriots website. (It wouldn't even go away after doing a factory reset on Firefox).

My question is, are these things really safe to do? Or, are these companies just sneaking annoying ads to make money?

It has got me so flustered that I just used heidoc and downloaded the updates the old school way, through windows update. I mean, after seeing those two highjacks, who knows what else will show up down the road.
