Visual Studio 2008 can be installed on Windows 7 fairly easily.
Although there should be no problem with installing SQL2008 onto your system (depending on the edition you have) - from your question I am guessing this is from a Microsoft Hero's pack or similar?, I have to question how usefull it is going to be.
SQL server is a memory hungry application and if you are going to be using it for anything reasonably large, I would seriously consider buying a cheap desktop PC, upgrading the RAM, and running SQL from there.
