I've been looking for photo software that will capture pics from camera & edit,re-touch & then transfer to an external hard drive. I would like you fellows to contribute a list of programs that would help me cover these needs.

GIMP

I have replaced PhotoShop with GIMP, took a while to learn the new terminology but it was worth the effort. I can run GIMP on my Win machines and my Linux machines.
