Missing msvcr80.dll stops me from installing photoshop.

I can locate the missing dll file in winsxs location msvcr80.dll, but it's not in sys32, so i tried to copy & paste it to sys32 but this has no effect. I've googled myself to death now with no clear solution to this problem?

Any help would be greatly received.
    Thanks.

I'd say scan for malware. Reason being is that I have CS4 installed on x86 and there is no msvcr80.dll in my system32. Perhaps something got messy where it is causing the installer to look for a file it doesn't even want or need.

    I dunno. Weird.

Actually yeah. lol how can an app ask for a file it needs while installing when it is installing that file itself. Funny.

Maybe if he puts the version from Bridge folder in System32 will help?

Green, if you want to try, here's the copy from my Bridge folder.

it's incredible that adobe, whilst writing such excellent multimedia software, come out with some real lousy installers...

Is it a reinstall. For adobe you need to unregister it, there is a program on their site and reinstall.

Thanks everyone & thanks for the link. I'll see what happens when I put it in the bridge folder.
