    iTunes 9.0.1.8 open...but not?

I am currently running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 and have iTunes 9.0.1.8 (the latest version) installed. When I open iTunes, nothing pops up. However, when I go to my task manager, it says that iTunes is open*.

    What gives?

    *See attached screen shot.

    Hi and welcome

First, Itunes 9.0.1 is giving us all grief. I have worked at least 6 broken installs.

If yu want to find exactly whats happening. go into event viewer (type event viewer in search), windows log, application tab. Look for app crash, app hang, that mention Itunes. You want to only look for errors (red "X" in left column) they will be there. let us know what they say and what the event ID is and the source code is.

    thanks in advance

    Ken

    Hi Ken

Thank you for your prompt response. I feel a little better knowing that I'm not the only one.

I did what you said and only found one app hang associated with iTunes. However, it was logged on 9/9/09.

The program iTunes.exe version 9.0.0.70 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.

    Hi

Yes, I've killed it in the task manager and tried restarting. No luck. I've already rebooted and tried restarting. No luck.

I must've uninstalled/reinstalled 3 times, each time with the same problem.
