Windows 7: Conflict Between smartmontools and GSmartControl

Conflict Between smartmontools and GSmartControl

I get a runtime error if I attempt to run GSmartControl with smartmontools installed on my Win 7 Pro x64 system.

When I start GSmartControl, the program starts and indicates it's scanning the system, but then a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error Box pops up indicating the application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in a unusual way.

Is there a way to troubleshoot this conflict? The windows logs for application indicate Event 1000, Application Error.

I have installed the latest version of smartmontools and GSmartControl. GSmartControl is installed in the C:\Program Files (x86) directory and smartmontools is installed in the C:\Program Files directory.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
