    What is Foxit CloudReading?

I updated Foxit Reader to the latest version 6.1.1.1031, and now see a new CloudReading entry in "Programs and Features".
I never had this Foxit program before this update.
Does anyone know what this is and if it's needed, or can I just uninstall it without breaking Foxit Reader for "client PDF reading"?

Doing a web search for foxit cloudreading hasn't helped me find an answer...

    Thanks,
    David

Good question, all I find for "cloudreading" are references to the Amazon Kindle.

It's probably something related to reading .PDF documents from cloud based services.

I think it may be related to this - http://foxit.foxitcloud.com/eng/logi...ange_help.aspx

    Thanks for the replies.

I understand it's probably something for reading "Cloud PDF" documents...
But, I have never used, don't need, and don't want such a "feature" on my home PCs.
I saw no "Opt-in/Opt-Out" choice with this update...

If I do ever want to read Cloud PDFs, I want to make that choice myself.
Is this really another step in the evolution of Software Vendors pushing things on users for whatever purpose?
No, it's not exactly like installing a downloaded program that installs some other unwanted stuff such as toolbars...but is this a "new method"?
In this case it shows Foxit as the publisher, and I appreciate that...

I saw no warning or info message that this program would be installed and why - maybe I missed it...
If any Foxit users update, pay attention, and let me know if I missed something :)

I don't know if this new program might open up "new security holes" that I need to be concerned with on a home PC that does not need "Cloud PDFs"...

I also found the CloudReading listed after updating Foxit.
When the program is opened, look under "About Foxit Plug-ins", it is listed as a beta version. I don't know about you but, I'm going to remove this uninvited guest with Revo as it is listed separately.

    @x BlueRobot
I did look at some articles I found on the Foxit site that seemed like they might be about this, but I didn't find anything for this specifically...
I don't see anything in that security bulletin link about this.

    @COMPUTIAC
Interesting about the plugin you have.
I did check there and I don't have the CloudReading plugin.
Interesting it's a Beta version, included in the latest Prod version of Foxit Reader.

Well, that is very strange. I wonder why.
Are you going to remove it anyway ?

    Yea - strange.
I haven't decided about uninstalling it yet.
Figured I might wait a few days and see if other people start asking about this on the web, so i might better understand it, and go from there.
If you uninstall it let me know if you run into any problems.

I've been playing around with Foxit seeing if I could find out when/why this new program might launch.
I haven't got it to startup with anything I tried...
I did find this, and wondered if it isn't used when saving to SharePoint.
I don't use SharePoint on home PCs, so I can't really test that.

From what I can find, SharePoint is part of MS Office.

I don't have SharePoint either. When I click on it, I get this :
