My Windows Installer Wizard is super slow...

First I thought it was that I was trying to install a very old game but then, I tried to uninstall 1 or 2 programs I had installed recently and it took so long I actually had to manually force the cancel of the uninstall because how much time had pass.

I am trying to google search this but all I get is SLOW WINDOWS INSTALLATION (as in the OS) and that is not my problem really.

OH and, sorry if this is not the place for the post

Does the installer seem to hang for an extended period (like 1/2 hour) then go through? The MSI may be hanging on something. Two things to try:

    1) Download SafeMSI.zip and save it to your desktop> Boot to Safe mode> In safe mode, run the SafeMSI.exe to enable the Windows installer in safe mode> Now try to install/uninstall a program that gave you problems in regular windows mode

If it works fine in safe mode, boot to a clean start and see if it now works fine in a clean start

If it works fine in a clean start, use the tutorial to track down the conflict. If it does not work in a clean start, see if you can use Process Monitor to track down what is interfering.

    This is more involved obviously.
