    7Zip Question

    Hi Folks,
7Zip is installed on 2 computers, Win7 Home Premium (My PC) & Win7 Professional. Both have Windows Live Mail 2012 installed and set as 'Default'.
If I right click a folder on my pc, select 'Compress and Email' it works perfectly.
On the other pc, I get a pop up saying there is no program installed or words to that effect, and it stops.
I have done a 'Repair' of Windows Essentials, still not working.

Hmm RR maybe you need to completely uninstall and reinstall the 2012 mate.

Have you done either of these?

Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request, right? Is the other computer x64? This seems to be an issue of 7zip and x64 usually. It is a 7zip issue, and they have not addressed it. No 7zip releases for quite some time. A Guy

    The Win7 Pro PC & 7zip are both 64bit.

Yeah, it's apparently a known issue. Not many helpful replies on their forum it seems. I guess it's a free program, so we can't really complain about that though. I was unable to find anything but people with your issue. Never any fixes or workarounds besides using the command line, or compressing, then emailing using another method.

Apparently they removed the context menu in later versions?

Have been unable to get access to the Win Pro PC due to unforseen circumstances but hope to soon. This image is my PC & 7zip 32bit.

It's never worked for me. Below is the message I get and I've tried file association of ".zfsendtotarget" but Windows won't allow it to be set to anything but the 7Zip programs.
