    Laptop diagnostic tools

Can anyone recommend any laptop system board diagnostics tools. Preferably generic if not for a Packard bell easy note. Thanks in advance

Murphybro some system specs would be really good mate System Info - See Your System Specs

I / we are not real sure what (or why) you are trying to diagnose so all I can suggest is you try the different tests for the hard drive memory and updating the drivers.

Is the machine just not running right or slow as I mentioned some more details would be good.

Thanks for the reply its an easynote tj65 and is making a continuous high pitched beep at boot up (every other boot). I have ran test on the memory and checked over all of the keys incase of a stuck key but all seem fine, someone suggested could be system board issue but struggling on how to test this theory !? Cheers

Here is your service guide, just FYI

    http://tim.id.au/laptops/packardbell...ote%20lj65.pdf

After the troubleshooting section, under intermittent problems it mentions

When analyzing an intermittent problem, do the following:
    1. Run the advanced diagnostic test for the system board in loop mode at least 10 times
I can find no mention of this anywhere though, and it's not an application listed on the PB support site

There are beep codes listed in the manual, but they are listed by code.

Just another thought Murphy could you run Speccy Speccy - Download
this will at least give us some specs and importantly some idea of the temps.

The review sites I have looked at are not that helpful and I am guessing this machine maybe is feeling it's age.

Its nothing to be worried about mate, i have a packard bell easynote TS11 and the high pitched beep occurs when the battery is being turned on whilst the sound on the laptop is also on, if you try unplugging the laptop and plugging it back in, the beep will occur, its just to let you know you have plugged in your battery pack and the laptop is charging, if its not this, then apologies
