Some game launchers and setup exe's will open then close right away

Hello everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but for the past few months I've had some problems. For example, on Steam I have Crusader Kings 2 and if I click play it launches the game launcher and immediately it says that CK2.exe stopped working and closes. Also I have some games that I bought from Amazon and when I download them it starts like it should for a few seconds and it says Amazon Downloader has stopped working. Its not just these two things, but they are the best examples of what is happening. I've tried making exceptions for them through Avast, but that does not make any difference. Also someone told me that .net framework may be causing the problem, I'm not sure what exactly .net is.
Thanks for your time in trying to help!

-disable your antivirus before playing games
    -update your graphic card driver
-uninstall or reinstall your .net framework (who knows!)
-it could be a virus - so scan it with a decent anivirus soft
-it could be incompatibility with your operating system. Set it in the settings when clicking right mouse button on the game icon

Welcome to Seven Forums HTVfanatic. See if they launch normally in Safe Mode with Networking (this is a test, not a fix)

    Safe Mode

If they launch correctly, try a Clean start to see if there is a conflict

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

If no help try running the System File Checker and see if it finds and corrects any issues

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
