Program is running in Task Manager, but not displaying on desktop.

Software:Cisco VPN (version 5.0.07.0410)

The problem that is happening is, I can see in Task Manager that the program is running, but it doesn't actually show up on the desktop. It has all Windows Updates installed, all software is updated and all drivers are up to date. It is running Windows Professional x32. It was working fine last week, no issues. Nothing was changed with the network or settings. Please help

There's no button on taskbar either? If there's a button but no window in screen you can right click the button and select Move. Then move the mouse around until you see it dragging a window. Sometimes a window "shows" off the desktop.

If that's not it then...

Did you install any Windows Updates in the interim? If nothing else changed there's the possibility one broke it. In any case if you have a Restore Point from right before the problem you could try that.

It does show in the Taskbar (sorry, I should've said noted that). There is no Move selection though, only Close Window and Pin this program to taskbar. I tried changing displays (Windows Key + P), but no luck. There were no new updates installed. I'm trying a System Restore now now, will update...

I guess that mouse move is a throwback to XP. Don't know why they took it off. There should be like a shift click or something as still many people only use one monitor.

Let me know what you get after the restore point.

edit: Hmm, I wonder if, say the window was off screen, if hitting Winkey Arrow would snap it back to the desktop? I try to keep most releases of Windows the same so I don't go crazy with different features in different machines. But now I only have W8 running I might as well learn all the auto resizer jazz and hotkeys.

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing.
Unrelated question: How does your avatar photo show? I set mine up, but it doesn't show.

I'm guessing it's due to post count. If you look also your PM is likely not enabled yet. They try to use heuristics, being computer dudes, to save themselves from allocating resources to people who never come back.

Hang in there. You'd be surprised if you get interested in the problems, how fast the posts add up.

Try this..

1. Click on the program in the taskbar to get it to focus
2. Press ALT+SPACE and then M
3. Tap on any arrow key once and then move the mouse
4. If the application has moved off screen, then it should come to where the mouse pointer is
5. Done.

I performed a System Restore and it fixed/restored the program. Thanks!
