Better than Adobe PDF Reader and Acrobat

I was going to test Nitro but they want some personal info just to try it, so it's not a "free" trial.
Only because this is a brand new PC (Fujitsu) and it came with the option to keep Win 7 or upgrade to Win 8.1 and straight out of the box Win 7 is a complete LEMON, I even named the machine Lemon-PC as it is so bad. The thought occurred to me perhaps MS wants me to get the hump with Win 7 and install WIn 8.1, that's all. Hope that ends your confusion - just me being paranoid

Quick Question

Are you downloading these installation files? If so right click on the exe and check in the properties that the file is not blocked. If it is unblock it.

Your issues might be caused by OEM bloatware that was pre-installed by the PC manufacturer.

Thanks for these ideas, I will try a clean boot, there are several Intel programs that run on this machine and it might be one of those causing the problems.

Thanks to everyone that tried to help with my various Win 7 hang ups. I decided in the end that rare as it is the factory install of Windows7 must be screwed. I have used Win 7 for years and millions of people can't be wrong about it being the best version ever developed so ignored the invite to go Win 8.1 and reinstalled Win 7 cleanly on the PC. Guess what? No more rights problems, the OS runs amazingly fast (Intel i5 + SSD DRIVE) and I am now very happy with the new machine. Invested in PDF Xchange as it is actually miles better than Nitro and upgraded to Office 2013. I will remain with the group as I am indebted to you guys for your help. Apologies to anyone I didn't actually reply to, I was getting a bit frantic about LEMON-PC and thought I had made a big mistake buying it. Fab bit of kit now all sorted out
