BTWUIExt has stopped working when i click on "control"

I have uninstalled/reinstalled with both windows and revo. I've run scannow, checked services.msc-all running & updated all drivers. My bluetooth headset connects ok & mostly works but as soon as i push the control button btwuiext crashes .
i can't find a solution anywhere. I went to the broadcom site hoping for an update but their downloader does not work on my computer. Any ideas? win7 64bit. cheers.

In searching, this is a common complaint, often caused by recent windows updates I might add. Have you tried running the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter?

Troubleshooting

Click on Hardware and sound> Hardware and devices

Or run this Fixit

Troubleshoot problems with Bluetooth enabled devices

It's worth a try, although I think it is something within windows rather then the BT or device.

Was this the download you tried?

You're welcome, you might try this Hotfix

Bluetooth devices do not work correctly on a computer that is running Windows 7

Dell's driver is from 2011

ftp://downloads.dell.com/Pages/Drive...e-m17x-r3.html

Have you seen the suggestion to make sure .NET is enabled in Turn windows features on or off?

Windows Features - Turn On or Off

Have you looked for any errors in Device Manager?

You might try deleting the bluetooth driver, rebooting and see if windows will find one. If not, you can d/l the original from the link above. This may not be a driver issue, but it sure sounds like one.

yep, dell's driver is as old as the hills but i haven't been able to find an update for it.I've been through and checked all the drivers for update whether they were related to this or not. I'm not to sure which windows features to turn on. I'm off for a week or so with no internet so i will get back into it then. thanks.
