When I plug in my iPhone, iTunes tries to "verify" my iPhone and then it just hangs. I can't sync at all. I hope a solution is found quickly because I am not liking this!

Connect your phone to your system, listen for the distinct connection sound followed shortly by another. Go to device manager and look at the bottom of the screen and expand the usb connection, see if there is a usb driver called aplle mobile device.

Yes, I did plug my iPhone into a USB port. I opened Device Manager and the iPhone did register on the port. The drive is updated according to the DM. My iPhone still does not sync.

Hi Toc, describe what happens when you connect the iphone, is itunes configured to automatically start the sync process? Or do you manually start the sync process your self?

I have my iPhone set NOT to automatically sync when attached. Is that the difference? Are you aware that people are having problems with iPhone syncing with the new Intel chipsets/Windows 7?

I reset my iPhone to auto-sync when attached, and what that did is cause the iPhone to go into a continual loop of recognition, backup, and sync.

I am experiencing the same or a very similar issue with my new HP dv6t laptop which also has the Intel Core i7 Q 720 chipset - only with my iPod touch.

When I connect the iPod to the sync cable, itunes freezes. When I disconnect the iPod, it immediately unfreezes and begins working again, but no Sync happens.

My onboard security software in PCtools Internet Security, and the issue remains whether the security is enabled or disabled.

I have all W7 updates from microsoft installed, and iTunes is up-to-date.

I am currently set up to auto-sync

I have another laptop, a Toshiba which I upgraded from Vista x64 to Win7 premium, and my wife's iPod Touch syncs with it just fine.

    Pulling my hair out here.

I have tried so many things.

I had Vista running on my Dell Inspiron 1545. iPod worked fine.

I installed Win7 32 bit version. My iPod connects. iTunes loads and iPod is visible. The iPod is not visible in My Computer though. I want to access the iPod.

    Thanks
    Jay
