How do I make notes for every application setup or installers?

I'm looking for a note maker which helps to make a note in a window regardless of its location. I used to use a note taker in XP which takes notes wherever you wanted it to. And it's not like MSOneNote, it'll store the notes somewhere in it's DB in profile folder but open the notes whenever we opened particular folder or window or application. Can anyone suggest me similar one. I tried in-built stick notes but it stays on desktop.

What note taking program did you use on XP? There's a good chance it will work with Win 7.

Her's one I found that sounds like it does what you want. It has the ability to attach itself to an application or folder and appear only when that application or folder is active.

What was the name of the note applicaiton you used before? That information will make it easier to understand your requirements for a replacement or workaround that lets you use the XP application on Windows 7.

    Thanks

Sorry that PC isn't working anymore, I tried booting up to look up the name but neither of the optical drive or mouse or keyboard are working. I don't remember it at all .

    Stickies
I took a look at Stickies but it isn't working as you said. Maybe tweaking it will help. I'll explore it tomorrow. It opens in all the windows like as the built in Sticky Notes. Hot keys aren't working either

I rarely if ever suggest that a member purchase a product.

I found two products that might fit the bill.

Evernote (widely used, highly regarded, and there's a free version). Plus... it has an elephant logo
I'm not sure that it does what you want though - attach to objects (docs, web pages, applications, etc)
    Evernote

I know nothing about this vendor or the product.
    ConceptWorld: Notezilla
It sounds as though it does exactly what yuo want.
Notezilla: Sticky Notes for Windows 7/8/XP, Android & iOS(iPhone/iPad)
    30 day trial
    Cost $30 USD

Thanks for the efforts :). I use Evernote on my phone, tablet and PC. I love it but it doesn't serve my purpose for tagging notes in 'windows' in windows. I'll try notezilla and comment back. Thanks again.

Stickies works for me. A new sticky is "global" but you can use the Attach function to attach it so that it only opens with certain folders or programs.

The default Hotkeys may not work but check in options and you can customize the Hotkeys.

To attach a Stickies note to a specific Window the Window must be open on the desktop.

Right click the note title. On the menu that opens left click "Attach". The window that opens will have a list of the available windows to attach the note to. Check "Only if visible" if you do not want the note visible when the window is minimized.

Make your choice by left clicking on the window name in the list. Click "OK".
