Ive ran sfc /scannow which didnt find any problems. Ive set DisableInbandScheduleLoading and GLID to 0 in registry. Ive reset Turn off Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program to not configured.

Vista and now 7 in 32 and 64 bit.
 
 


Just had a quick google and found some repeated entries on the web concerning this problem on Vista with Powershute. ???

Thought I would let you know that the repair/upgrade installation applies to Windows 7 as well, I just tried it to see if I could get those disabled services back up and it all went smoothly and is now fully functional again, all programs and settings remained untouched aside for a registry tweak for the sidebar to work with UAC off.

Yes that suggestion worked. I had to reinstall a couple of apps and windows updates but no big deal. It could be an idea to do this once a year to stabilise your system.
