    Pre-diagnostic scans

I do feel dumb asking even tho' I've seen in someone's sig. that "the only dumb question is one not asked".

Is it safe to run CCleaner , not the registry part, at default settings that clears out several different 'log' files, then come here to ask for help with "slow PC", where I may be asked to post some info that 'might be' gone due to CCleaner cleaning? Or am I as usual a million miles off base? I ask because I've read some posts where the helper has asked the poster to upload different logs to be looked at.

Please see my tutorial on how to use ccleaner safely. Ccleaner is generally very safe and is great to run every couple of months or so. Disk cleanup is a safer option for basic users.

Sorry I took so long to reply. I have used CCleaner a lot but generally uncheck several of the defaults because I wasn't really sure of their meaning & didn't want to delete something that may be asked for should I have to ask for help, example, Index dat files, Memory Dumps.
The same goes for Disk Cleanup, don't understand some of the choices.

Read the tutorials thoroughly. They will answer the questions on what each option does. :)
