    How do I run a old 32 bit dos program on new 64 bit machine


    I have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and want to use an older dos program that ran on my old 32 bit machine. I was told to download Microsoft virtual machine to do this. First do I have to install Windows 7 Pro 32 bit? And 2nd which file do I download for virtual machine?

    64 bit Windows 7 will run 32 bit programs, it just won't run 16 bit code. It sounds like your dos program runs 16 bit code. Dosbox might be an option, DOSBox, an x86 emulator with DOS

    If it is a "serious" program, not some game, a better alternative than DOSBox is vDos:
