MDS/MDF Image mounting software compatible with Win7

    Hi folks!

Just installed Win7 yesterday and am lovin it! Save for the fact that I cant get one of my favourite games to work becuase its in MDS/MDF format.

Yup! and since SPTD [the driver used by ALcohol 120%, Alcohol 52%, DT,etc] craps out in Win7, I cant use any of those programs!

I tried an old setup of MagicDisc. Got it installed even but thats it. It froze my system and had to manually uninstall it.

Is there any free/paid utility which mounts MDF/MDS images as well as others?

On a side note, I wonder what will happen if we actually take the already installed SPTD driver from another OS [say XPSP3 dualboot] and try to install it? The only reason Alcohol 120% 's setup loops indefinitely is because it fails to DETECT the SPTD driver.

So, if we manage to literally hammer the driver in to place somehow, maybe we can start using our favourite image mounting/burning tools?

OK I got PowerISO to work after reading another forum post. But still, I would like to know if we can forcefully install the SPTD driver so that all our favourite virtual CD/DVD tools can work again!

    Thanks!

How did you get poweriso to work. I have tried ultraiso, which is pretty much the same thing, or so i thought....

Dragor - you cannot *forcefully* install the SPTD drivers - they *have* to be updated to work in Win7, and*particularly* in Win 7 x86-64. I feel your pain on that one - I miss being able to use Daemon Toolz and not mess up my Mass Effect disc....
