    Balabolka

The best free text to speech software that I've ever used is:

    Balabolka - Home Page

Balabolka Free Download - Alternate Download

It can do what you ask.

    Hi Martin,

Does an online tool work for you as well? On audiotext.ws text to speech you can create audiofiles based on a natural voice for your English texts. You can subsequently use a program like this one to convert the audio to a .wav file.

    Hello Robbert

The project was to call the TTS from a charting software using a dll. So outsourcing the TTS function to a webserver may be feasible, but probably too slow.

For the moment I put aside the project of creating text string to be speak out. Instead, I recorded individual wave file to be called. Not what I wanted, but a cheap solution to my need

Free Text To Speech Reader has a free standalone app that will output a wav file. Microsoft's .NET has text to speech that you can call from code.
