Adobe Acrobat XI Pro crashes within 30 seconds after launching. Also occurs with individual Acrobat programs. Adobe Acrobat XI Pro had previously operated without issue but then I had not used if for a couple of months. I contacted Adobe and they advised me it is an OS issue. I have searched, unsuccessfully, for Microsoft E-Mail support. I am at my wits end. Can you please assist me?

I have put together all of the info that I think you need. If there is more that you need please advise me.

    Welcome to the forum Amateur,

Could you upload the MSINFO file.

    MSINFO32:
    • Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
    • Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
    • Also, save a copy as a .txt file and include it also (it's much more difficult to read, but we have greater success in getting the info from it).

I'll need you to follow the instructions in this quote:

    Perform a Clean boot:

Reduce items at start-up. No software except anti-virus is required plus doing this improves the time for logging into windows:
Tell us if that helps with the error on launch Acrobat.

Yes. One application, QQ International, continues to boot even after turning off the auto start feature. I clean all startup programs off of the desktop and did a cold boot.Adobe problem is not solved.

Have you tried repairing the Adobe installation?

Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:
    • Click on the
    • Type CMD on Search
    • Left click and Run as Administrator
    • Type SFC /scannow

1st I repaired Adobe Pro and rebooted, the issue persisted. 2nd I ran SFC /scannow and rebooted, the problem was solved. To ensure it was working properly I opened the Adobe pro and accessed several files before going to the opening page where I let it sit open for a couple of hours while I worked on other work. The opening page was crashing within 30-seconds previously. All is good now.

You're incredibile! Than you so very much for your assistance.

    Registry Entry missing

I have had the same issue however a reformat or reinstall wasn't necessary. Adobe support was no help, Microsoft was much the same.

The issue is a registry entry missing for the pdapp.exe application, specifically for the Image File Execution Options.

Add the following registry entry and all your adobe products should launch.
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\PDApp.exe]
    "DisableExceptionChainValidation"=dword:00000001
