UAC protected programs wont open

Hello,
everytime I try to run programs that require UAC confirmation, an error message appears, saying that the file cant be found or nothing happens. I tried to change the UAC settings, but that requires the UAC confirmation as well. I have the administrator rights and I am the only user.
Thank you in advance.

Hello PootisMan, and welcome to Seven Forums.

See if doing a system restore (at boot if needed) using a restore point dated before this started may be able to undo and fix this for you.

Hello Brink,
thanks for your reply, but unfortunately i cannot do that, because I am using a Lenovo and it has its own recovery program, which is not set to make restoration points. Also, the Windows recovery requires a UAC confirmation too.

In that case, see if using the .reg file in step 2 of the tutorial below may be able to help. This will also restore the default registry entries for "Run as administrator".

Run as Administrator - Add or Remove from Context Menu in Windows 7

I'm thinking the registry key below may be the issue if it's not still like below.

Code:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\runas\command]
@="\"%1\" %*"
"IsolatedCommand"="\"%1\" %*"

The .reg file needs an UAC confirmation as well as regedit. Its all a vicious circle :/

You might see if you may be able to open regedit to manually check the setting.

When I try to open regedit, the same error message appears.

I was afraid of that.

Do you have another administrator account on the computer that you could log on to and see if it does the same in it?

Unfortunately I have just this one account.

In that case, you may need to reinstall Windows since you are not able to do anything that requires elevation.

Back in Windows XP, there was a trick to make a folder totally inacessible. It was a bat file with comands that would change the name of the folder to some special name, which would make the folder inacessible, and not localizable through "Find (F3)". The code of this bat was the following: ...

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 wont' open ANY 32 bit programs
I've searched around and I couldn't find anyone else who had this issue. I updated from Vista x64 today, and when I booted up, almost none of my programs would open. I discovered that is because my computer will not run any 32 bit programs  Anyone have a solution for this?
