A good computer monitoring/remote desktop program?

I've used teamviewer for remote desktop and it works great but I want a program where
I can monitor the computers on my own network as well as control and view the screen without
the user having to accept my control.

I tried remote desktop manager but when I try to connect I get a access is denied error even when I turn off
the firewall on the other machine so I'm not sure if that program is what I'm after.
