Snipping Tool Error: "_crtCreateSymbolicLinkW could not be located"

    Hello All,

I wonder if there is someone who might be able to solve a recent problem I got with the Snipping Tool application (ST).

ST was working perfect until very recently and then it suddenly started giving my problems; everytime I tried to save an image I kept getting this error (See picture).

I've tried several things to fix this issue such as running DLL-Fixer (initially a thought it was a .dll issue), running Malwarebytes, HitmanPro, and a full scan with Norton IS-2014 and Eset Online Scanner. I found nothing, or at least nothing serious.

Afterwards, I performed a Clean Boot and checked applications in both *services* and *startup* to see if there was a conflict with the ST. I noticed something odd with one of the applications (on startup) called ADM Hydra Vision Desktop Manager (AHV): I realized that was able to get proper functionality of the ST after unchecking AHV and rebooting again... So, I thought that I had isolated the problem. Consequently, I decided to let AHV uncheck from the start up list (using System Configuration) and rebooted again, but after a while the problem resumed once more.

    Any ideas?

Welcome to Seven Forums JDVA. It's possible a 3rd party program has replaced the original Msvcrt.dll. try running the System File Checker

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

See if it finds and fixes corruption. A Guy
