So, I got an notice from my ISP for downloading torrent

I use utorrent, and yeah, i download some ****, and i got a notice from my isp for what i downloaded and that if i dload again, i get suspended, etc...whatever..

Is there any ways of not getting "noticed" for download torrents?

I had encryption enabled in utorrent, but the tracker was the cause of this notice.

A

do you want to risk it? If they look hard enough they will find you.
What ISP?

ISP = Internet Service Provider

apdunshiz, did you get "caught" because of the amount you downloaded, or because of specific files you downloaded?

What freedom? You are using the property of another to get online.

This is stupidity. I'd switch to another ISP if they interfere in my computing.

Unfortunately, there are acceptable use policies for ISP's...and downloading of illegal or copyright materials via Torrent are often against these policies.

It might be harder and harder to find an ISP in the future who leaves you alone and lets you do anything that you wish to do.

By no means am I advocating piracy, but you might want to check out PeerBlock.

I'm not so sure that tools like Peerblock are a worthwhile defense. These use blocked IP addresses to keep communication from known hosts. So, what if the prying else simply scan for files from unknown IP's that are not yet in the Peerblock list?

My advice, lobby for free distribution channels, don't pirate stuff. If you don't like the restrictions, then don't support the system.

In my opinion, the ISP has no right to say what we can/cannot do on OUR computers. Sure it may be their service, but without us they have no cash source to keep the company going, they should respect our privacy and not tell us what we can and cannot do.

I don't encourage pirating, but if someone wants to pirate, then let them. They get caught, its there own fault.
