From: ERROR 38 (alleged damaged file) and DOWNLOAD INSURANCE

Maybe it will help? Sounds like copy protection nonsense...as usual.

Error 38 is generated when the Protexis License service is not running. This can sometimes occur after system startup while services are in the process of initializing or if the Protexis service has been stopped. To further trouble shoot this error, follow the steps below:

    Enabling Protexis
Click on start and go up to Run. If you are running Windows VISTA® click on Start -> Programs ( or All Progams ) -> Accessories -> Run.
In the 'Open:' box, type in MSCONFIG and click Ok.
Click on the 'Services' tab at the top of screen.
At the bottom of the screen, above 'Ok' & 'Cancel' check the option 'Hide All Microsoft Services'.
Ensure that the item: 'ProtexisLicensing' is enabled.
NOTE: Only one instance of ProtexisLicensing can be enabled. If there are multiple instances of this uncheck the second copy.
Click Ok and select the option to restart the computer.

I don't know about downloading anything. I was just pointing you at some info about that error 38, and the possible cause of it (Protexis). I don't nor would I ever use any software that uses that kind of copy protection, but that's just me.
