bin Formatted File To A csv Format: How ?
Hello,
Any "easy" way of converting a bin formatted file to a csv file ?
Tried via Excel, but no luck.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Hi,
Thanks for help; appreciate it.
I'm not smart enough with this "stuff" to really answer your question regarding type of binary file.
Some background.
Have a radio scanner which has a software package where you enter lots of frequencies you are interested in.
It has been told to me that it is a "Binary File"
If I open it up with Excel, it shows:
ÿ8kÂ_Iå tZ–ºAIRTRAN Æ
I have a new scanner now, with its own software, and apparently it saves the information in a .csv format. Too bad the first one doesn't, apparently.
Would love to be able to transfer the information/files from the old to the new, without having to re-do it all. Lots of work.
Thanks again,
Bob
Is creates a binary file.... so only readable by applications which understand the logic. Can you read the data in the old-scanner software and do "save as" or something alike?Have a radio scanner which has a software package where you enter lots of frequencies you are interested in
