    Driver Genius Question

i installed this software the other day. It updated my drivers, which i believe are kept on my D drive. Prior to doing this, i had about 5gb of 9.76gb free space on this drive. As i was installing the new drives or updating the old ones, it asked me if wanted to make a back up, just in case. I made the back up and saved it to my external. So after all the updating, my D drive now only has 189mb left.
    Is this correct?
Is there something there that shouldnt be there?
Can i expand my D drive by adding space from my C drive?

Normally D: is the recovery partition. Nothing should be installed on there. It is unclear to me how a backup can eat the disk space on D. unless you made a file backup for which D: is the default . But since you say that you saved it on your external, D: should not have been touched.
I suggest you open D: and see what's on it. If you are not sure what the files are, post a snip here. Maybe we can help you sort it out.

this file is the same size and properties as another folder in the Image folder:
    Factory.wim~MN06C46E
there is another file in the same folder called "Factory.wim".
    Both files are 3.89 gbs.

Factory.wim is the system recovery file(s). If there are 2 of those on D: I would think you could delete one.
