That is really odd - the reinstall should have wiped all data from the biometric DB. Same for the uninstall / Reinstall.

Just a thought - you are an administrator right?

Look in Control Panel for the fingerprint control (might be in biometric, might be in the fingerprint brand name control - mine is Validity, there might be pieces in both)

You should be able to clear the DB in one of those Control Panel objects. You'll need to enter your text password to verifiy that you are you.

thanks for link read it, i can change the supervisor password and user password and completely remove them, but don't seem to make any diff for the finger scanner, this is a replaced new ssd hard drive not the one that was in it when i bought it, it was working on this one until i had to reinstall windows, what about using one of those programs to clear the bios? is the passwords on a laptop in the bios or a chip ? thanks

A camera or phone cam is fine, if you either.

There are two pieces to my FP reader
    1) the sensor software
    2) the biometrics software.

I just looked on Acer support for your machine and it's the same setup (different FP vendor). That makes sense.

Please verify that you have uninstalled both the Fingerprint Driver and the Fingerprint application
    Restart your machine
    Reinstall the Fingerprint Driver
    Reinstall the Fingerprint Application
    Restart your machine

Assign a different finger to your account.

Try reversing the install order if that doesn't work.
Think of other device installs ... some want the driver loaded first, others want the device connected first.

I recall this being a difficult thing to do on my machine - sorry I don't have the exact steps.

    Best of luck

    Bill
