I wouldn`t let any software control what I was installing on my machine.

Why do you need that ?

It like apt-get for Windows. Instead of manually compiling Chromium, choco did that for me. After the initial installation of Chocolatey. All I had type at the cmd line was this

choco install chromium

then hit enter, then it worked.

I read one magazine site that said this is a good program. I still have the concern it could be spyware. malware or viruses. Unlike Linux distros, they don't have several developers watching trusted repositories for badware programs.
