I need help finding a (free) PDF converter.

    Good morning everyone,

I was just trying to print my tickets to a concert i got thru TicketMaster. When I went to print them another browser window opened and they appeared in PDF format. No sweat I figured, so i clicked print and since by default my PC uses the PDF software installed from the OEM that i would not have any problems.

Then it saves the PDF file and when the PDF opens up there is a box saying my trial period has expired and it covers (covered) part of the ticket rendering it unusable. If I redid the process and picked my printer instead of the PDF converter software it printed just fine.

I have screenshots of my programs with the PDF software showing so you can see the version, and three screenshots of another example of what happens when i try to download or print a PDF file.

I had no idea my OEM software for PDF's was a trial, and heck it has been installed since 2012!! Hell of a long trial period!! So I am looking for the best free PDF converter and PDF reader out there.

I use the free Adobe PDF reader to view and print PDF files. No problem and it does not expire.

If you are looking for something that will convert to PDF, the free Open Office suite of programs will do that.

Otherwise, I don't know why you would want to convert something TO PDF.

(There are better EQ's than the Behringer in your pictures).

    Well fireberd,

I don't know why I would either!! I was just trying to print some tickets and the PDF software did it's thing and thats when i noticed there was a problem. I guess you can convert PDF files to .word or .Doc but I never needed to.

I found this blurb after I made the post this morning:

    Hewlett Packard & PDF Complete:
HP pre-installs PDF Complete Special Edition (SE) as an added FREE service to you. PDF Complete SE is a trial version that allows you to view, search, and print existing PDF documents for the life of your computer. SE also lets you create and secure PDF pages for a trial period of 6 months or 50 pages (whichever comes first) from any PC application that allows printing. Pages created after the trial period has expired will print with a permanent watermark.

Now i have had my PC for well over a year, so with a 6mos trial this issue should have come up long ago. I can still view, search and print as the blurb says, and i tried and can still do these things, so unless I need to convert something, I may not need additional software. Just a converter if it became necessary.

I used the Behringer cause I know they had PDF's I could use to make screenshots, and yes there are better EQ's like Ashley's or DBX, but they cost upwards of $600.00! I found with my entry level Parasound P3 pre-amp that it helps open up the soundstage and increased the dynamics rather than just using the P3 straight into my amp. I actually run the EQ flat. I want to purchase a microphone and software in the future to hook up to my PC to "see" the frequency response in my room, then i may make some adjustments.

Just download the free Adobe PDF reader. That is all you will need to print PDF files. Just opt out of the extra garbage before you download it. Adobe Reader Download | Free PDF viewer for Windows, Mac OS, Android

I have a Sonar (Platinum edition) recording studio. I use a Roland Studio-Capture for my recording interface unit.
I have some Behringer equipment so I'm not "anti-Behringer" - I have a BCF2000 control surface unit and a Power Play Pro 8, 8 channel headphone distribution amp.

BTW, I'm from up the road, Mechanicsburg.
