Colorize Folders

Looking for free software to add color to folders. Everything I have found so far, has spyware and or toolbars included,so I don,t even go there. If anyone has a suggestion..thank you.

It's not software really that you need; I mean, it's not a program that runs that you're looking for.

All you need is a .ico type graphics file. If you have another type of graphics file (.png, .gif, .jpeg, etc), you can convert it at these sites: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl

I've made quite a few custom ones, like out of school logos for school work, a treasure chest cuz I'm obsessed with POTC, etc.
People also make sets of them to download & post them on like deviantart.com or proIcons.com.

If you just quickly want some colored folders, check out the zip folder attached.

Consolidate Shortcut Folders/File Folders in Open Dialogue
I was wondering if there's a way to sort file folders and shortcut folders so they are listed together, as in previous OS versions. I find it frustrating that 7 has forced the shortcuts to be split up into their own category rather than their file properties. I prefer to sort my folders by type,...
