the sysinternals one seems to work on Windows 7 just fine, you just don't have transparent glass on the other desktops.

Strange, I have 64-bit Windows 7 and it works fine here.

    Hi there
Unlike Xp one can't customise each desktop individually (Aero / glass doesn't work) and often when you switch desktops you STILL see applications running from another desktop.

On XP you really could get this to work as 4 INDEPENDENT desktops.

I agree its better than nothing but it STILL doesn't work in the way it used to.

Now almost every Linux distribution on this planet that uses a GUI or X server has the virtual multiple desktop feature so I'm surprised that Windows doesn't have this as a matter of course --especially with 64 bit machines, more RAM and faster processors allowing many more concurrent appplications to be run than was the case on the older processors.

    Cheers

Using it for about a couple hours (no need for multiple desktops, just testing it) I only noticed 2 problems with it:
No transparency (still had Aero, just looked bland) and wallpaper persists. I did not see any apps appearing when they weren't supposed to.

If you want to encrypt files then use winrar.
right click select add to archive then click on advanced tab.
    then click on set password
then click on general tab and select what kind of compression method you need.
    then click OK!
    Hope this helps
