Windows 7: Direct x 9 programs!!

my direct x 9 programs wont run on windows 7???

which direct x package will work???

most just say you have the equivalent one installed... but the programs still say i need 9 installed??



am i missing something...

can i actually run direct x 9???

ok!!

so i ran both installers... march then august..

they unpacked to folders on my desktop... ran the installers...

they installed...

rebooted... it didnt ask me too but i did anyway..

ran acid pro... still asking me for directx 9 runtime...

i also cant seem to run acid pro 6 as it asks for netframework 1.1 service pack 1 due to compatability issues!!

is there something wrong here???

windows 7.... wheres the support?? i mean you hunt for these things which are so basic.. but there is nothing???

can someone help me get these on cos i need them for programs?!?!

You cant use the much newer directx 11, and net framework 3.5? If not it is going to be really difficult if not impossible.

installing directx 11 it just says wont install cos i have newer or the equivelent...

but v 1.1?? this is not part of it and wont install?!?!

and netframework 1.1 has compatability issues.. well thats what it comes up with???

I answered you with an excellent post and I'm answering you now with another excellent one.

Open an elevated command prompt. Copy and paste the following command, then hit enter. It will repair or replace any damaged or missing files, .net framwork included.

sfc /scannow


Check on those apps you're trying to run. Maybe they are not compatible with 7 like other similar apps. Maybe they are.

Also do a Windows Update.

You'd probably do better trying to check Windows 7 compatibility for the software you're trying to run. Or, you could be more forthcoming about what it is. Your problem may not have much to do with your DitrectX installation.

For example: Acid Pro 6 was released in 2006. Windows Vista became available at retail in January of 2007. I don't know whether Acid Pro 6 will run on any Microsoft OS newer than XP. (There was a major change involving DirectSound between XP and Vista. 7 is essentially the same as Vista.)

Acid Pro 7 is supposed to be Windows 7 compatible.

If you skipped Vista, you may find that some of your software isn't compatible. If that's the case, you'll have to decide whether to update the software, or revert to XP.

but this doesnt seem to do the trick..

ive installed the net frame 4 beta... but this hasnt worked for 1.1

and the directx end user one installs... but acid pro still says you need directx 9... and net 1.1
