Software deleted yet not uninstalling

Hello, my name is powerblo. I am posting to ask your opinions on how to completely uninstall programs. I was installing 3ds max 2016 on my computer yesterday, and now that I try it today it wasn't working that well. I tried to delete the program and reinstall it to fix the problem, forgetting to properly uninstall it. Without using the uninstall tool or the control panel, I deleted the file only by mistake. Today, I opened the autodesk installing program and it said that the program was still there! I was sure that I completely deleted the folder, so I checked my control panel. I went to delete the program, but it said there was an error and the program wasn't there. It asked me if it would take it off the menu, so I accepted. Now, the program file is nowhere to be seen and there isn't a way to uninstall the program. Yet, the weird installing programs STILL thinks that 3ds max is still on the system. I've tried out the autodesk uninstalling program and it didn't even show up there. Anyone can help the problem?

Try a system restore, should have one from right before the original install yesterday.
