Windows 7 - Photoshop CS3

I have installed Photoshop CS3 Extended on my new Windows 7 -64bit computer.
Bridge works OK but Photoshop will not open.Message reads "Photoshop has stopped working" Windows will close program.
Any solution?

Hi Bullion and welcome

A couple of things come to mind.
1-sometimes running an app in compatibility mode cures it. to run in compat simply right click the icon you use to launch go to properties and compaibility tab. Click vista and try it.

2-sometimes DEP (data execution prevention) prevents it. goto your system control panel>advanced and make sure not all apps is selected.

Hi I tried your suggestion, same result. Photoshop has stopped working.
I have been advised that I will be able to open if I upgrade to WN 7 Professional. As I would then be able to run in XP mode.
What do you think?
I paid last week for the WN7 upgrade when I bought the computer. Wonder if they will change it to Professional and how much it will cost.

I am having the exact same problem and I tried the issue with the DEP, running as an administrator, and I ran it on every compatibility setting dating back to windows 95. (This is on windows 7 home premium)
