Do you have any external drives attached as you try to install? Try running the installer as admin.

Please run in cmd:
Quote:
sfc /scannow
And if there are any corruptions found run in cmd:
Code:
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >"%userprofile%\desktop\sfcdetails.txt"
Attach the sfcdetails.txt here (should be on your desktop after running above command)

I have two drives in my system: Windows 7=C: and D: both are internally connected to motherboard

I run SFC command with admin privilege and corruptions were found, please find the attached .zip for CBS file

Looks like it fixed the corruption, there was only 1 corrupt file to start with. Can you re-run sfc /scannow please?

Did you try after running sfc?

There was a recent .net issue posted by someone else, that person got rid of it by upgrading to Windows 10. Now, of course I am not telling you to do so. Instead you could try a repair install (you will need to re-install device drivers and Windows Updates, programs and user files will be unaffected). Please read about it to get an understanding - Repair Install

There is also a 3rd party app (tweaking.com all-in-one Windows repair) which could help. But it is mentioned that it could induce a security risk because it gives rights to users to everything. Mind you many used it without issues but I will let you decide if you wish to give that a chance.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks again for your help.

I tried but unfortunately, same failure with same error code...

Is there other way to get rid of this rather than upgrade or repair?

Most likely a file/folder or registry permission issue (although can't be sure).

Try this from MS - Download Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool from Official Microsoft Download Center
