How do I get realistic distance representation using GIMP?

How do I get realistic distance representation using GIMP?
=============================================

Thanks for your input to my postings. I am using GIMP 2.8. I am not an expert.

I have two images (image1 & image 2).
I have same object in image 1 & image 2, but the object is displaced between images. I used GIMP to overlay both the images to figure out the displaced distance. Here is what I did.

I created the 1st image from clipboard, I open a new layer and placed the 2nd object. I adjusted the opacity to provide transparency between image 1 & image 2 . I find image 2 is layered on top of image 1, but the displaced distance is not representing realistically on layered image. I tried with zoom. Images look odd.

How do I make the images to be sync to displaced distance?

I am attaching the layered image for review.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi
It would be better to simply upload a png or jpg of the file and not a pdf.

Thanks for chiming in. I tried to make png or jpg format for this posting. It did not work out. That was the reason, I posted in pdf. I welcome some suggestions.

I am not able to save as png or jpg format using GIMP. I tried to copy & paste the layered image as shown in pdf (before making to pdf) to paint. it copies only current layer from GIMP. I means it brings only single image.

Let me know, how to make png or jpg format of layered image of GIMP?

I will be glad to satisfy your request.

Thanks for helping.

You need to Export as in gimp to be able to use different image formats.

Thanks for your guidance. I uploaded the overlay-ed image in .png format. I uploaded the raw images to build this overlay-ed image. The images are in individual .zip files. I hope this helps.

Thanks for helping.

Update

For some reason it is now allowing me to upload the .png file. I clicked the upload and communicating with server. Loaded files are not showing up. When I have .pdf or .zip, it is loading without any issues.

I uploaded the images in photobucket. Here are the links.

How do I mask or erase the part or parts of the file or files that make it look unrealistic in above image?

Thanks again for helping.

Okay well
Still not sure why you're using zipped files besides the large file size :/
I personally am not going tom download something just to look at it.

Either way if you want something to be seen more realistic and can't using layer modes or rearranging the layers
If that doesn't work mask or erase the part or parts of the file or files that make it look unrealistic.

Hi,
Okay now upload the separate images you're using to photo bucket as well so I might have an idea of what you're working with.

Thanks for your Layer Masking tutorial. Good to learn some new stuff. It won't have happen without you.

If you review my separate images (base images), I am working with. Both are not on same zoom level. I mean that image 2 is a distant view with displacement.

What is the beast way to overlay these two images by preserving displacement?

The tutorial did not address this piece.
