Windows 7 and Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2

Does anyone here have the Corel "Paint Shop Pro Photo X2" program installed on their Windows 7 computer?

I'm having a problem moving my DVD copy from my old Windows XP to my new windows 7 computer.

I have the DVD disk that I purchased, with user Guide, and activating serial number for the XP.

However, this serial number will not work on my Window 7 computer. Corel is no help, as they seemed only interested in selling me a update to X7, and refuse to provide me with the correct S/N.

Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated.

I don't know how I can help you, but I do have Paint Shop Pro Ultimate Photo X2 on my Win 7 Home Premium computer (with the only difference being mine is 64bit). I've had the program installed since I got the computer some 4 years ago, but I bought that version at the same time, and I had no problems with installation The "Ultimate" may be different from the version you had on XP, but I've successfully installed much earlier registered versions (going as far back as PSP 7, I believe) on Win 7 from those program disks.

Maybe you are entering the wrong S/N? Try changing any o to 0, 5 to S, 8 to B. Have had this issue many more times than I care to think about. HTH

gini, thank you very much for the reply. I failed to say that I do have the Uitimate Photo X2 program.

If sharing of serial numbers is allowed on the Window 7 Help Forum, I would like to compare the SN on my DVD program disk sleeve, with the SN that you used to install your program.

The SN on my DVD paper sleeve is [removed] Above the SN is "PSPP X2 Ultimate English".

If this is not permitted, please disregard.

    Thank you,

    Bill

cyberSAR, thanks for your reply. I must have typed the SN dozens of times , but is it very likely that I could just be repeating the same error!

I'll take a closer look and try again!

    Thanks,

Bill, my serial number is composed of the same groupings and combinations of alpha characters and numerals as yours. Mine begins with PU12U22 - I know you will understand my reluctance to post the entire S/N, but yours certainly seems legitimate. I hope cyberSAR had the solution for you. BTW. my program is version 12.5, not the original 12.0. I'm not sure that makes a difference, and that info didn't appear on the sleeve.

Thanks gini! I appreciate you taking the time to check, and compare your serial number with mine.

I received a email from Corel yesterday evening asking for a photo copy of the serial number for my disk. I sent it to them, and hopefully they will provide me with a correct SN for the Windows 7 system.

I'll let you know the results.

    Thanks again,

    Bill

Sadly, there was no help from Corel. Same old...same old! Send money for a update to X8!

While the cost of the update would be slightly less than the current $89.00 cost, I like X2, and I don't need or want X8! Besides, I don't like doing business with a companies that are not helpful to their coustomers!

So, unless someone wishes to send me their Windows 7 serial number, I guess it's a lost cause!

    Thanks to everyone,

    Bill

Bill, I'm really sorry Corel let you down! Unfortunately, my program's serial number (along with PPS 10) is registered with Corel, and I don't think you could use it. Maybe this would be worth looking into:
Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X3 13 & X2 12.50 Full Version Free Download US USA
Read the FAQ's and Download information and draw your own conclusions. In your case I don't feel you'd be cheating anybody by getting the program without cost!
