Which HP Bloatware can be removed?

Hi, I just got a new hp laptop and it was stuffed with a lot of bloatware! I took off the most obvious bloatware, but wanted to know what else I would be able to remove. Anybody that can help? Thanks

Post a list and I can tell you what can and cannot be safely removed, in most cases everything to do with HP can be removed. Better safe then sorry though!

Before you start HP Bloatware surgery ...
Have you made your HP recovery DVDs ????

If you have the M$ install DVD, I'd format the boot drive and re-install with it.
Edit: you'll have to reinstall the HP mobo drivers which you can get from their website.

That will Void the HP warranty .. It's only good with the original Software.

When getting HP support .. They may ask you to run some of their tools...
And possibly perform a HP system Recovery.

It might be better to just make sure all the HP Bloatware is not running at start up.

The first thing I'd remove is Norton & M$ 60 day Office trials .. & Maybe HP Media Smart
But not sure what else the new HP W7 computers come with ??

But .. I say again .. The first thing to do is make your HP recovery DVDs

Hi, thanks for all your responses. I have created the recovery disks already, that was the first thing i did. Well, I dont want to reinstall the OS, cause it will void the warranty, plus im waiting for my free windows 7 upgrade. Uhm, this is the software that came with it (i already removed the obvious unnecessary stuff):

    NVIDIA DRIVERS
CYBERLINK DVD SUITE (i will use it as a dvd burning suite, but remove all the parts of it i wont need)
    Adobe Reader 9
HP Mediasmart (and all the apps linked to it)
    Java 6 update 7
    DigitalPersona (for the fingerprints)
    HP wireless mouse drivers
    IDT Audio
    HP Help and Support
    HP Total care advisor
    Lightscribe system software
    Quicklaunch buttons
    Synaptics Pointing device driver
    Validity sensors software
    Microsoft live search toolbar
    HP wireless assistant
    HP Update
    HP Hybrid TV Tuner drivers
    Realtek ethernet drivers
    HP Customer service enhancements
    Microsoft visual C++ 2008...
    Avermedia encoder...
    HP Total care setup
    ProtectSmart HHD
    Windows driver packages

This is what comes to mind for a good chunk of those. (I'm also a HP User.)

    Adobe Reader 9
    - Can be removed, if needed then download 9.2 from here.

    Java 6 update 7
    - Can be removed, download Java 6 Update 17 from here.

    Microsoft live search toolbar
    - Not needed.

    HP wireless assistant
    - Not needed.

    HP Update
    - Not really needed.

    HP Customer service enhancements
    - Not really needed.

    HP Total care setup
    - Not really needed.

    ProtectSmart
    - Get HD 3D DriveGuard from here.
