Running Chrome in 64 bit Windows 7

Here's a tip if you are having trouble running chrome in Win 7 x64.

Put "(space)--in-process-plugins" after the .exe in the "target" field in the shortcut or application. Hope this helps.

I've just used the beta version of chrome myself, runs fine with no modification, only the non beta version has issues running in windows 7 in my experience.

Or run the 2.0.170 dev build which works just fine.

I tried that beta....It gave me an error while installing and I still had to do it. Then I un-installed it and tried again. Then I re-installed windows (was going to anyway) and tried it again.....the beta does not work for me on 7057 or 7068.

I was leery to try the beta on my new 7068 so I didn't. I just un-installed and re-installed 2.0.169.1 and it gave me the "this program did not install correctly" but seems to be running fine. It kept my favorites and cookies too. I don't know what's up.

One strange thing...installing chrome 2 erased my appdata - local low folder for a while. Chrome needs to just install like any other program. I don't like the way it installs.

That's the build I meant, it's listed as the beta build. The non-beta build is still 1.x(...) not 2.0(...).
