Free Old Versions of Microsoft Word

I recently had my computer fixed, which deleted all of my programs I had on my computer, including an old version of Microsoft Word, which is pretty important for me. Anyone know of anywhere there's old Win 10 compatible versions of Word that I can download?

Word has always been proprietary. There hasn't been a free license. I'm not sure if you can obtain a legal copy for free, especially a version recent enough for Windows 10. Any version from 2003 on will require activation unless the copy has been hacked, which we can't discuss. There are free alternatives such as open office.

If you have the install CD and product key for your old Word it can be reinstalled in Windows 10. All versions of MS Office from Office 2000 onwards are compatible with W10. If your Word was preinstalled by the OEM than you are probably out of luck, not having the installer or the key.

There are alternatives to using MS Word, LibreOffice Writer can read, edit and save Word documents. LibreOffice is available as a Portable App that does not require an install if you'd like to try it out.

Technically I don't think that this is compatible with anything past Vista. Good luck running it on 10.

Technically MS don't support Office 2000 for use with W10. In practice it should work....

A look at running older versions of Microsoft Office on Windows 10

With a volume of questions on the Windows 10 Reservation forum asking whether their Office 2000, 2003 or XP version is compatible; I decided to do so some test for users who would like to know.....

All three versions started setup nicely with exception for Office 2000 setup which presented an error message during the install... I promptly clicked Ignore a couple times and setup completed successfully....

....All apps with the exception of Outlook ran great on Windows 10. I was able to open, create and save documents in all versions of apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher....

Technically it isn't supported on 7 (well anymore it isn't supported at all) but I know that it works on 7. Maybe it will work on 10. I think that this would be a better discussion on 10 forums. Windows 10 Help Forums I still don't understand why people bring their 10 questions here.
