    'Safety of Second Nature screensavers

I have used the Second Nature screensavers for years. They pride
themselves on being totally malware free and they provide regular updates for their installer.

However they recently they have announced that the website would
close. They advised their customers to copy their screensavers on a DVD or a Flash Drive for use in case of reformatting or a new PC. (I
    have done this).

Will these screensavers continue to be safe after the website closes and the installer is not updated?

On my Windows 7 - I use Kasperssky Anti-Virus and Windows Defender.
    Thank you for your help.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums cygpet,

I see no reason why the screensavers would not be safe to use once you have saved them. What format are the files? How large are they?

If they are less than 32MB in size, I would scan the copies you have already downloaded using this reputable online scanner, as an additional insurance policy:

If you need more help, or have additional questions, post back here.

    Regards,
    Golden

I agree with Golden, they should remain safe. The installer is not what keeps them safe. I have a huge collection with them and have been using them while they still came on floppy disks.

    Hi Cygpet

My reply has nothing to do with your question as I have a problem with my Second Nature sreensaver and that is that I have lost all my files and there were hundreds of them and I have also lost my backup disc that I did knowing that they were closing the site

I have been trying to get hold of someone that has these collections and would be willing to pay for a copy of your disc

Many thanks if you can help me

I didn't even know that that had closed until too late. I'm willing to share files of what I do have if anyone is willing to do the same, please.

I would be willing to pay for any discs that you have for sale, not sure how we can do that as we would have to private message so you could have my email
