    Messenger conflict?

    Hello.

So after realizing that I was still using the default 1.0 drivers for my nVidia GeForce GTX 260M graphics card, I decided to update. (Dragon Age 2 was crashing for no reason on startup so I tried a few things to get it to work) Anyway, after updating it to version 270.xx, the newest one, it prompted me to restart.

I did, and after I signed back in, I got this error.

I can say without a doubt it was caused by the nVidia driver, and it's an existing issue because I reformatted my computer last time I had this problem. Same computer so it's likely the same conflict.

I'm using Windows 7 64 bit on a laptop. System properties, if it helps.

My question is, is there any way to fix this or should I just never use WLM again?

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Just realized this issue is present with all Windows Live Essentials programs. Hope that helps.

Are you running the latest version of Windows Live Essentials? Try going to the site and reinstalling. If that doesn't work, there are some more intensive things that can be done.

Try uninstalling the Windows Live sign-in assistant (This thing causes lots of problems with other apps for some reason and I never install it).

Try running ZapMessenger to completely uninstall it, then reinstall.

Also, make sure you're using the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, as I've heard there may be some incompatibilities between the two.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Live Essentials like you suggested, and no change. Tried uninstalling the sign-in assistant, and after it told me to restart, I got an error saying the dll for the assistant wasn't present so I couldn't run any of the programs.

I have the newest version of Flash.

So far, no luck, buuuuut, I DID find that Internet explorer somehow got uninstalled at one point. I did reinstall that but nothing changed, unfortunately.

    Trying the ZapMessenger option now.

Edit: ZapMessenger didn't work either. D: I don't really know what to do at this point. Games for Windows Live also does not work so I can't play (Or at least can't save or load) any of the games that use that.
