Is there a tool to collect a list of all installed programs?

I'm trying to assist a person with an issue that seems to be specific for their computer with Windows 7 installed on it. (Unfortunately I cannot remote desktop into it.)

So I was curious if there's a software/tool that can collect all installed software on their computer and generate a report in a file that they can email me?

PS. Pretty much get me a list of what CP -> Programs and features shows in its GUI.

Thank you. I was hoping to have some tool already available in Windows because to use what you suggested I will have to explain to the person how to download and install it first.

Open command prompt window and paste this in:

    Code:
    wmic product > %userprofile%\desktop\list.txt
    Hit enter.

Try this. Open an elevated command prompt. type wmic Now at the prompt type

/output:c:\users\username\softwarelist.txt product get name, version, installlocation

Username being the profile name of the user. Hit enter. The softwarelist.txt file will be at the c:\users\username folder.

It does not require an elevated command prompt window to have WMIC list the installed stuff

Thank you fellas. Indeed wmic command is very close to what I need.... except I just tried it on my system and it doesn't seem to have every program/entry that I see in my Control Panel -> Programs and features list. Do I need any additional parameters for the full list?

    Hi,
You might just stick to taking a screen shot of programs and features
They would need to go there to remove anything if you want them too

Top right switch to List view next to the question mark symbol usually that will get everything on a single page
Use Shift+Prtscrn keys and open Paint and paste button/ file save as...
Or use the windows snipping tool and save as to the desktop and send that as a simple image attachment
Use Snipping Tool to capture screen shots - Windows Help
