    Win 7 USB Download Tool

My computer has almost become unusable, very sick. I want to do a clean Win 7 install; took out the Win 7 64 operating disks I've had for several years. CD drive also very sick, broken. Searches reveal ways to install without a CD – downloaded Windows 7 USB Download Tool. Have no idea how to choose an ISO (see attached); this process is complex.
Thought I was a fairly advanced user but feel as though I'm an imbecilic beginner. Thanks in advance for your help. ec

The 1st thing you have to do is download the iso file to your computer.

You choose the iso file of the version you need, in your case Windows 7 Pro Service Pack 1 either 32 or 64 bit, look in Computer>Properties it will tell you what bit version you`re running.

    64 bit http://software-download.microsoft.c...bc83c30b5aba1a

    32 bit http://software-download.microsoft.c...cd80a8f8cc1197

These 2 links should work to download the iso file. (For 24 hours at time of post)

    Any questions just ask :)

    Clean Install Windows 7

Although, using a usb stick to install windows is not all that difficult for some, it may be for a novice, using a dvd is so much easier.

Once you have the iso file, you can use Rufus to put it on the usb stick, you need at least a 4 GB stick, or use the download tool.

If you want to burn to dvd then you could use this program, but burn the dvd no faster then x4 speed, or use the download tool.

In all seriousness, I can't believe my eyes. I am so thankful to you for the time you took and effort made to put this together for me...and for sharing your smart brains (also seriously). ellenc
