Skype Password Remembering & Digital Camera ?

I'm a new Skype user (Skype Portable) and the only way I can get Skype to remember my password is to not sign out but use the Quit Skype option when right-clicking the taskbar entry. I found this by doing a global search.

Doing this leaves me signed in to Skype (Task Manager shows the two Skype entries), so I'm wondering if this could be a problem, security wise.

Also, if anyone does know of a way to get Skype to actually remember the password, maybe adding a line to an ini file (appinfo.ini ?) I'd sure like to know.

On the camera, anyone see any potential issues with leaving it, and its mic, plugged in all the time? I have a desktop PC and have it off to the side. No applications usually using it.

    Thanks for any help.

The whole "remember my password" thing is in itself a security problem. Basically, there is no way to possibly implement such a thing in a safe way. Leaving Skype open all the time is a security problem only if another person can take control of the computer with an open session, either physically or by remote access. In those cases you really want to log off.

Password remember just makes that problem worse! Now anyone with access to the computer doesn't even needs an open session or steal your password, the Skype login screen would tell them the right password (of course this isn't an Skype problem, every password remember is inherently flawed in the same way).

I wuold suggest to look into a password manager instead.
