Once you DO get in installed, don't be surprised if it complains bitterly about licensing problems. It saves a hash code of the machine when it's first installed and licensed at the vendor's website, after that, changes to your machine can produce different hash codes -- which has the effect of invalidating the license.

I've had this happen every time I installed another OS, or changed versions of other OSs -- even though I've NOT messed with the Vista OS other than routine Windows Updates.

A120% will work in Win 7

Alcohol 120% does work in both Vista & Windows 7, all builds and both x32 & x64.
Just make sure that you install it first in "SAFE MODE" before running and activating it, I've done this on many installs and never have any problems.
Hope this helps.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

it should work fine.

But just curious:
Why not just use Alcohol 52% free edition?

Its free, and the only thing it can NOT do is create image files.
Also limited to 6 virtual Drives

For creating Images, IMGBurn is free as and does just as well or better.

Both work perfect under 7 x64

This post was originated when Windows 7 was still in beta and RC. Now that Windows 7 is released Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120% work just fine.

Linux CENTOS 7 / various Windows OS'es and servers

Hi there
the Free version of Alcohol 52% works fine as well -- if you just need a virtual CD / DVD drive mounter go for that one instead of purchasing a full product.

I'm trying to use Alcohol 120% v2.0.2.4713 to create back-up .iso files so I don't have to use the disks in the future. The Read Speed only shows 1 selection & that's Maximum. I've checked Skip Read Errors & Fast Skip Error Blocks. In the DataType dropdown box I selected SafeDisc 2/3/4. I then...

Are there any general opinions on system problems after installing Alcohol 52% free version? It has some useful features that things like magicISO don't have. When installed with an ASUS P8Z68 type motherboard and i7 2600k (see my specs) I got of all things "TurboVhelp" application error from...

Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% via XP Mode?
I haven't tried it out myself, but theoretically speaking, can't we finally get Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% to work by running it with this new "Windows XP Mode" for Windows 7. If someone else has tried this and either gotten it to work or not gotten it to work, please reply. I will post my...
